Knee pain and or PatellaFemoral Pain is a very common disabling pain. Helen recently attended the excellent course on Weekend Warriors for runners held in Brighton. One of the lecture mornings was given by Claire Robertson whose special interest and research is PatellaFemoral Pain which can causes severe pain across the front of your knee causing pain walking up and down stairs or sitting for long times. It is a big subject and there are all kinds of knee operations some are useful which may or may not help the patellafemoral pain Either way if one has had knee surgery or one is trying conservative treatment it is important to keep up to date with current research in to this severe condition
Helen is attending Claire`s course with the wonderful Physiotherapists at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Saturday 3rd November as she has seen so many severe cases of PatellaFemoral Pain from different causes such as trauma, running or working out in the gym what many people do not realise is the wrong exercises done in the gym aggravate this highly painful condition such as deep squats, rotational twists which allow the patella or need To take the soft tissues as it sits in the trochlear of the knee

The focus shockwave therapy or the radial shockwave therapy can reduce the spasm and pain in the quadriceps and around the knee. However this is just the start of the recovery process one then has to provide a decent rehabilitation programme and recovery and this is why it’s important to keep up-to-date with all the current courses on knee pain
